Award-winning freelance journalist, former BBC Education Correspondent and conference speaker Mike Baker was sadly diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in April 2011. His ‘Cancer Blog’, documenting his experiences with the disease, has brought inspiration to many and he’s now set himself a huge challenge to raise money for an excellent cause.
Beginning with conventional treatments, Mike later shifted almost entirely to complementary medicine, as he strongly believes that patients should have both options, not "either or". A cycling fan, Mike will be joining 'The Ride' (www.theride.org.uk) for Yes to Life, a charity dedicated to raising awareness of diet and exercise in cancer treatments. He'll be cycling with them for 3 days (24th-26th July), covering 156 miles from Porthmerion to to Cardiff.
